Information Flow between FAFN, FTJ & the Advisor • FAFN notifies FTJ of the model trades and the reasoning behind the trades. • FTJ communicates via email with the Advisor the model changes, reasoning and the date of the portfolio changes. Creating Income The Synthetic Dividend • Traditional Approach – Bonds Pay Income and Equities Provide Growth: • The Risk of Chasing Yield - Every incremental increase in yield above the risk free rate is an incremental increase in risk. • (1 Year Treasury currently paying around .26%) • To increase Cash Flow from Bonds means investors are taking on more risk through extended maturities or lower credit quality . • To increase Cash Flow from Equities means investors are taking on more risk of entity not paying dividend. • When rates are this low you have to allocate more money away from the inflation hedge of equity to meet income needs. • The Synthetic Dividend Approach: • Cash Flow is Cash Flow. • Create cash flow through systematic pro-rata distributions from a portfolio with a low standard deviation. • Long Term Gains are taxes at Capital Gains rate of 15%. • Client’s withdrawal rate is a component of assets and time frame not current interest rates.
