"Pasta with herbs, delicious sautéed garlic, and plenty of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Chop the garlic so that some is minced and some is larger pieces. You can substitute 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning blend for the fresh herbs."
1 (16 ounce) package dry penne pasta
1 medium head garlic, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.
2. In a skillet (kastrol, pánvička), saute garlic in oil on low heat, just hot enough to make the garlic sizzle (syčet); about 10 to 15 minutes. Season with basil, oregano, parsley (petržel), and crushed red pepper, and remove from heat.
3.In a large bowl, toss (míchat) cooked pasta with garlic and herb mixture, and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes.
Sprinkle with Parmesan, and serve.
2 pounds beef skirt steak
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/3 cup prepared spicy brown mustard
1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
1 cup blue cheese dressing (optional)
In a small bowl, stir together the lemon juice and mustard. Trim away most of the fat from the steaks, and rub with the mustard marinade. Place into a re-sealable bag, and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, and up to 24 hours.
Preheat a grill or large skillet (pánvička) for medium-high heat.
Grill or fry steaks for about 5 minutes per side, or to your desired degree of doneness. Remove from the heat, and let the meat rest for 5 to 10 minutes to let the juices settle. Cut each steak along the braun (vlákno masa, zrno) into 3 or 4 pieces. Serve with blue cheese dressing.
