Begrippen • DatacompressieDatacompressie is het representeren van digitale gegevens met minder bits dan de oorspronkelijke representatie. • DecompressieUitpakken van gecomprimeerde bestanden tot het originele formaat of grootte. • LosslessVerliesvrije compressie en decompressie • LossyMet verlies van gegevens (dus scherpte) comprimeren en decomprimeren.

  7. Begrippen • Native File Formatbestandsformaat van het programma zelf, bijvoorbeeld PSD voor Photoshop. • Standaard bestandstypes zijn bijv. DOC, XLS, PPT, JPG, GIF, PNG, etc. Native Met layers Standaard Flattened,dus zonder layers

  9. Begrippen Bitrate • Bitrate: Aantal bits per seconde van een audio, video of internetverbinding • Bit: eenheid van informatie. In 1 bit past een 0 of 1. • Codec: video compressie formaat

  10. Begrippen Vuistregels voor bitrates • Een mooie kwaliteit MP3 heeft een bitrate van 256 kbit/s • Radiokwaliteit is 96 kbit/s • Snel internet is 100 Mbit/s (mobiel) en voor WI-FI zo’n 600 Mbit/s • Standaard TV heeft een video bitrate van 3.5 Mbit/s, HD televisie heeft 29.4 Mbit/s

  11. Grafische formaten Native File Formats • PSD : Adobe Photoshop • AI : Adobe Illustrator • XCF : Gimp Deze horen bij een specifiek programma. Ze zijn lossless, met behoud van layers, selections, channels, etc. www.digitanis.com

  12. Grafische formaten Universele grafische formaten • JPG: Lossy. Geschikt voor foto's • PNG: Lossless. Altijd geschikt behalve voor foto's - weinig compressie. • GIF: Lossy. De voorloper van PNG. • BMP: Niet compressed. Typisch Windows, niet voor internet geschikt.  Vector formaat • SVG: Vector Graphics. Lossless en klein tegelijk. www.digitanis.com

  13. Grafische formaten Kleur-ruimte Grafische bestanden kunnen op verschillende manieren hun kleuren vastleggen. Dit noemen we de kleur-ruimte, ofwel color space www.digitanis.com

  14. Grafische formaten • RGB Color Space • Red-Green-Blue. • Standaard voor web • CMYK Color Space • Cyaan-Magenta-Yellow-Black (wordt ook wel Key genoemd) • Standaard voor print • Grijswaarden • Hierin wordt alleen de verdeling zwart-wit aangegeven. www.digitanis.com

  15. Audio/video formaten • WAV: Niet compressed • MP3: Lossy. Bitrates meestal tussen 64 en 320 kb/s. • OGG: Lossy. Beter dan MP3 op dezelfde bitrate, vooral op lage bitrate. • FLAC: Lossless, compressed • AAC: Lossy. Standaard van iTunes en iPod. Beter dan MP3 op dezelfde bitrate. • WMA: Lossy. Vergelijkbaar met MP3, alleen voor Windows. www.digitanis.com

Binaries en compressie Binaries / Executables • Windows : .exe • Apple OSX: .dmg • Dit zijn uitvoerbare bestanden, programma’s / applicaties dus Compressie • ZIP: bekendste compressie formaat • RAR: wordt gebruikt om hele grote bestanden (dvd's) te splitsen t.b.v. downloading www.digitanis.com
