But having said that,there are some duration limits though before you discharge your debts. Chapter 7 vsChapter 13 THERE ARE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS AND EXCEPTIONS In Case of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy: You'll have to wait for 8years before to file another Chapter 7. You can file for Chapter 13 after 4years from the date you last Chapter 7. In Case of Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: You can file another Chapter 13 again after 2years. You can file for Chapter 7 after 6years from the date of Chapter 13. Exception If you have paid 100% of the outstanding debts,you can file chapter 7 bankruptcy immediately. These are the debts from unsecured creditors such as credit card debt,utilities, medical bills, or any student loan as part of your Chapter 13 bankruptcy filing.
