  1. Desert Biome By: Kayla Harbin

  2. Precipitation • The amount of rainfall also varies. Though there is little rain in a desert, and when it does rain, it pours. Violent rainstorms can cause flash floods in the desert. After a storm, the desert may not see any rain for weeks or months.

  3. Temperature • It can be over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day but below 32 degrees at night.

  4. Animals • Desert Jack Rabbit- eats plants, such as the cactus. The ears help keep the rabbit cool because heat can escape through the tiny blood vessels that are found there. • Camels- have bushy eyebrows and two rows of eyelashes to keep the sand out of their eyes.

  5. Plants • Cacti- store water • The Joshua tree-

  6. Where they are located. • Deserts cover one-fifth of the world. They are located in Australia, United States, and more countries.

  7. Environmental Concerns • Not many plants or animals can live here because its so hot and dry.

  9. Interesting Facts(: • The Gobi Desert in Asia is cold for most of the year. • Mountains on the edge of deserts prevent rain from entering.
