  5. PURPOSE OF ASSISTANCE Guarantee: • fidelity to charism • communion with the Church • union with Franciscan Family

  6. PURPOSE OF ASSISTANCE Means: • Pastoral visit • Appointment of Assistants

  7. PROVINCIAL MINISTER acts: • personally, or • through delegates

  8. PROVINCIAL MINISTER duties: • fraternal relations • formation of the friars • provide means for Assistants • monitor assistance

  9. COLLEGIAL ASSISTANCE • CONFERENCES • MEETINGS • STATUTES FOR ASSISTANCE

  10. CONFERENCES • International (General) Ministers General delegate General Assistants (4 in Rome) • National Ministers Provincial delegate Provincial Assistants (3 in Oceania)

  11. CONFERENCES • Regional Ministers Provincial delegate Regional Assistants (1 in Singapore-Sabah) (No Conference)

  12. MEETINGS • General Assistants: once a month • National Assistants: every second month • Regional Assistants: haven’t formed Conferences Keep in contact, act collegially

  35. INTER-RELIGIOUS Foster rapport and collaboration with: • non-Christians • Muslims especially
