  1. What Diwali Brings To Light Diwali or Deepavali is the annual Hindu festival celebrated in the South Asian country India. It is a festival which is widely regarded as the 'festival of lights'. The word Deepavali comes from the ancient and beautiful language of Sanskrit and its meaning is understood to be, "rows of lights" or "rows of lighted lamps". The event is in association with the celebration, devotion and honour of the Goddess Lakshmi. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity in the Hindu religion. According to Hinduism if one seeks to offer their prayers to this goddess their lives will be filled with good fortune, joyful occasions and they would have love which would keep them content. This holy day is considered to be a day which is symbolic of the victory of Light over Darkness, anything which is good over everything that is evil, there is no negativity around as all things unfortunate seem to disappear and we

Decorations such as, lighting diyas and candles for the whole house, buying home decorations, making rangoli on the floor (which is made using fine coloured powder or sand), buying some fireworks for the children, (not too many as you must be cautious of your environment). Some even do fasting, while others can't have enough of the food feast as some traditional delicacies and sweets are made and sold at very favorable prices. Shopping has always been a major part of this occasion, people shop for their gods, for their loved ones, for themselves.
