Format of Our Sessions • User input and exchange is key – the sessions are open for questions and discussion at any time • Each section is lead off with a 15 min introduction by the lead person from the MN-SIG Group followed by questions and answers. • Scheduled guests for panel discussion include: • John Eaton, Virtual Trader Ltd, on Tools for Global Implementations • Folia Grace, VP Oracle Corp, on Release 12 functionality • Schedule Conflicts: • Steve Miranda 11-12pm and Cliff Goodwin 1:45–2:45 pm will be attended by MN-SIG representatives and reported back to the group • Distinction Award for MN-SIG Group at 12pm – we will be late.

The Multi-National SIG Groupits purpose, organization, and activities • Mission: • Cross-Module and Cross-Geographies • Processes and Issues specifically facing global or multi-country Oracle applications users • Organize exchange of ideas and experiences • Take active role in OAUG Enhancement process with Oracle Corporation • Synchronize with other SIGs and GEOs

Key Issues for the Multi-National SIG : • - Multi-org • Global or Regional Shared Services • Inter-Company (trading, accounting, pricing) • Using multi-language and multi-byte (MLS & NLS) • Tax and Legal Compliance Issues (coordinate solutions in different regions, work with Euro Financials SIG) • Global Single Instance issues

Plans for 2006/2007 • Expand the Board with additional members, ensure participation from the key Oracle users and big 5 implementation firms) • - Continue Multi-National Focus events OAUG and Oracle Conferences • - Newsletter with functionality questions from members, publish answers, solicit member input; articles from members. • Start Web-Cast training sessions • Create topical member collaboration (sub-groups) • Make contact with Peoplesoft, JD Edwards and Siebel User Groups • Improve and formalize collaboration with Oracle Corp. Objectives of Global Implementation Workshops • Communicate and Share Oracle Functionality Improvements, Third Party solutions and in-house customizations • Collect Feedback for Oracle CAB and Liaison sessions • Communicate program and project experiences Workshops were organized in: 2003: London, Northern California, San Diego 2x 2004: San Diego, Paris, 2005: San Francisco, Grapevine TX, Birmingham UK, Atlanta

Key project and business decisions: • Central versus local or regional control • Containing and tracking variations without compromising integrity (DFF, Transaction Types, COA etc.) • Customer, Vendor, Item global visibility, naming conventions, and maintenance • Project Management across countries and regions, central team, local teams, external sources

Important Oracle functionality issues remain for Global Implementations • Multi-org restrictions as related to Shared Services and Supply Chain Visibility • Uncertainty about Legal Compliance tools (Globalizations, GAE, VAT) and varying legal requirements • Intercompany models are not sufficiently developed • Language issues (NLS, MLS) • Single instance Issues (Performance, Time Stamp, Sys Admin complexities)

MN SIG Workshop Results • - Significant shift to Global Implementations with 11I Upgrade: consolidate instances, global COA, global or regional business processes, SSCs. • - Biggest issues confirmed: Multi-Org, IC, Legal Compliance, Global Data Integrity • - Better direction from Oracle required to avoid lengthy investigation and verification by each individual client. • - Requesting recommendation of alternatives and complimentary tools for intercompany, external documents, multi-org, cross-instance and other issues. • - No Global Implementation is known without significant customizations (under many euphemisms).

  14. MN SIG Workshop Results • Negative Feedback (if used at all): • GlS, Global Accounting Engine (more reliable in 11.5.9 and 5.10), MLS, Multi-Byte, MRC, Euro Conversion tools, AR Credit Checking, Pricing and Documents on IC transactions • Positive Feedback: • - Improvements to PA Accounting including cross-charging, • - OM functions across orgs (releases and shipping from central warehouses), • - GL consolidation tools • - IC Internal Sales Order Invoicing 11.5.9 and 5.10 • Unknown / i.e. no feedback: • Global Procurement functions • External IC Drop-Ship • Very positive! Improved Communication with Oracle Product strategy groups!
