CEOS Working Group on Information Systems and Services (WGISS) • WGISS is a large and active CEOS working group that includes several subgroups focused on specific data issues (e.g. Discovery and Access, Future Data Architectures, Technology Exploration) • View the WGISS website: http://ceos.org/ourwork/workinggroups/wgiss/for more detailed information.

Data Discovery and Access • WGISS Connected Data Assets Infrastructure (CDA): Single entry point for external clients to discover/access CEOS agencies data Search over 32,000 collections in the IDN (collection search) Access over 5000 collections with associated over 300+ million granules (granule search) CEOS Service

  5. Future Data Architectures (FDA): Themes • Analysis Ready Data (ARD) • Data Cubes • EO Platforms • User Metrics / Resources Inventory • EO Data Analytics

CEOS and WGISS FDA Actions • Establishing a common description of FDA functional blocks, identifying interfaces and interoperable connections • Creating an inventory of existing FDAs operated by both public and private entities (best practice) • Discovery and access of CEOS agency Open Source Software • Coordination of CEOS FDA – ARD with LSI-VC, etc

Technology Exploration • Conducting data and technology webinars and workshops • Promoting awareness of Future Data Architectures • Developing a white paper on single sign-on (SSO) authentication • Exploring emerging trends and disrupting technologies for adoption in EO. Summarise as white papers. • Joint webinars and advertising with: • WGCapD • NextGEOSS • GEOSS Evolve • Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP)

Additional Data Provision Achievements from CEOS • Web-page initiated on the CEOS website under "Our Work” to facilitate discovery and access to Best Practices and Guidelines developed by CEOS. • “Measuring EO Data Usage” Best Practice finalized & accessible through CEOS web site • New Data Set Availability Alert Procedure defined and implemented to publicize new available data

CEOS Visualization Environment (COVE) Tool • COVE is a browser-based suite of tools for searching, analyzing, and visualizing actual and potential satellite sensor coverage. • COVE is FREE and OPEN for anyone to use! There is a large international user base with 4000+ users. • COVE includes 131 missions and is linked to several mission archives to get metadata and browse images for past acquired data including: Landsat-5/7/8, Sentinel-1, and Sentinel-2. • Coverage Analyzer and Data Browser: New tool for coverage assessments and scene data to support data ordering. www.ceos-cove.org
