WP6 – What is it about Subject 1 • Train (the trainers of verifiers) on GHG calculations and to work with GHG calculation tools • For biofuels at start of project • For electricity and heat (second half of project) Subject 2 • Keep the BioGrace GHG calculation tool updated. BioGrace-II Kick-off meeting Brussels, 14 and 15 May, 2012

WP6 – Deliverables to be met • D6.1 Four short reports from training sessions on biofuels GHG tool (Month 14) • D6.2 Updated biofuel GHG calculation tool (Month 26) • D6.3 Four short reports from training sessions on bio-electricity and –heat GHG tool (Month 36) • D6.4 Training materials of the train-the-trainer sessions of Task 6.1 and 6.4 available on the website (Month 36) BioGrace-II Kick-off meeting Brussels, 14 and 15 May, 2012

WP6 Tasks Training sessions for electricity and heat • Later in project when tool has been made • No actions required at this moment Update of biofuel GHG calculation tool • Work can start as soon as JRC has finalised their calculations • Timing of update of RED Annex V is unknown • First version of electricity & heat tool is more important. • Therefore, ANL proposes • to wait with update of biofuel tool • for now to focus on electricity & heat tool BioGrace-II Kick-off meeting Brussels, 14 and 15 May, 2012

WP6 - Tasks Training sessions for biofuels verification • First session to be organised before or shortly after summer holidays 2012 • This means: actions is needed now! • Duration 1, 1,5 or 2 days. Proposal first training: 1,5 day • Content of training, three pieces of information: • General explanations on GHG calculations, relation to RED, methodology and calculation rules, etc • Present different GHG calculation tools(UK GHG calculator, German tool, Spanish tool, RSB tool, BioGrace tool) • Calculation examples and exercises: present a number of examples, and let participants make exercises BioGrace-II Kick-off meeting Brussels, 14 and 15 May, 2012

WP6 - Tasks Training sessions for biofuels • Proposal for actions: Next month: • ANL will invite verifier trainers and set a date based on availability from voluntary and national schemes that we currently know • IFEU and BIO IS will try to get in touch with the other schemes as a preparation for the next sessions and decide on data and location of other meeting Before training:/ • ANL, IFEU and BIO IS will all prepare 2 detailed examples / exercises based on version 4b • ANL, IFEU and BIO IS will prepare to explain different tools BioGrace-II Kick-off meeting Brussels, 14 and 15 May, 2012
