  1. 3D Animation Objects Planning

  2. Material: Rough & has small indents Textures: Rusty metal Shapes: Cylinders, Circles, Rectangles, Squares Colors: Red, Black & White Sizes: Light will be reflecting from the lamp post onto the side of the post box, highlighting areas of it. Post Box Elongated rectangle/ square that will be extruded through the cylinder or grouped circles. This object would come around the middle of the creating stages as it isn’t too hard but it isn’t too easy either. Evidence will be taken from experiencing the real feel of a post box so the end creation will look as real as possible. Small details like writing & paper on the postbox will be added separately as a photo taken by myself and imported as a small texture.

  3. Bin Material: Plastic Textures: Smooth & Slender Shapes: Cylinders, Squares Object will be the second to create as I personally think it won’t be the hardest to do. The light from the lamp post will reflect on the bin. Changing texture to a smoother material and a lighter color of a soft gold. Square/ Rectangle to be extruded into the shape

  4. Phone Box The phone box will be similar in creation to the post box, it will have the same texturing and almost identical in coloring. The post box won’t have as much detail as is shown the picture located on the left hand side, For example; the ‘ER’ which is placed in the top right hand corner. The ‘Pull’ sign on the handle of the door, The royal crown may be placed at the top with ‘TELEPHONE’ beneath it by inputting a photograph/ picture. To give it the main idea of a phone box. To create the initial shape I will use a cuboid, enlarge it to make it taller, extrude the edges to add detail, Use textures to create a glass outline to wrap around a selected middle part of the shape, Then create squares and duplicate them around the cylinder, also created rectangles as well to form a pattern. The Phone box will be an object to create possibly after the post box is created so I can use the textures which are already on the system.

  5. Street light/ Lamp Post The lamp will be in the style of a London street light, It will have dirt on the side of it and any grit, Photographic evidence of how a lamp post looks will be posted on the blog. Being one of the more simpler objects, the only complicated bit being in storing a light mechanism, this will be the second object to be created in the creation stages. Changing texture to a smoother material and a lighter color of a soft gold. Using a light tool I will create a light source within the main part of lamp post, Within the light shining will be particles floating like dust.

  6. Bench The next object is an old bench, It will be more logical to do this style of bench as the more modern ones would not only be hard to find but hard to create as there a lot of crazy inventions of London seating. The old school bench will be one the early stages of creation, As I have already began playing around with the shaping of the bench itself, it could possibly end up being the first object being created out of the bunch of 6. The bench will be a wooden style and will be worn, the texture will be a rough look and have marks, just like any bench would. As the newspaper will be on the bench, The animation will be connected with the bench as the newspaper flies off the bench by the wind, Also blowing the particles in the light source provided by the Lamp post. I ‘m using the resource of having a London styled bench in my garden. I have found a detailed YouTube tutorial of how to create a bench very similar to this one. The bench will be placed in the background; up against the wall, next to the bin.

  7. The newspaper will be the last object to be created as I believe it will take less time to create it, Which means If I spend longer on the more complicated objects it will give me time to create the newspaper to the most detail, As there is writing and images on the object itself, Texturing will play a big part here, Most importantly it is the object that will be the most animated in the scene. It will blow in a gust of wind, from the bench to the edge of the scene and leaving the focused area of the animation. I am unsure whether or not to make the newspaper rolled up or folded, half open. If it is rolled it it will be harder to unravel when the animation stage comes. So I have to think about that. The newspaper won’t have too much texturing as it is a smooth collection of paper. To make it I will most likely group together circles, or perhaps create a cylinder and input larger to smaller circles to create the rolled up effect, or if I choose to make it half folded, create a cube using polygons, & curve the sides and sharpen the sides.
