  1. Containment U.S. • Domino theory- A theory that if one nation falls under communist rule the neighboring countries will also become communist.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) • Organization made up of 28 countries. • Main purpose is to protect freedom and if one of the 28 countries is attacked all of them are being attacked. • Established after word war 2 Dean Acheson's speech on the proposed North Atlantic Treaty. March 18, 1949

  4. KOREAN WAR • A war fought from June 25 , 1950 – July 27 , 1953. • Dropped 4,000 tons of bombs Napalm bomb used during Korean War

  5. Vietnam War • “The Vietnam War was the prolonged struggle between nationalist forces attempting to unify the country of Vietnam under a communist government and the United States (with the aid of the South Vietnamese) attempting to prevent the spread of communism.” Actual uniform of Vietnam soldier Rick Warke.
