  6. Software • http://audacity.sourceforge.net • Download 2 things: • Audacity  C:/Program Files • LAME • Stash it anywhere – you only need it once • For today, put on Desktop

  7. Privacy for Kids • Identity • First names only • Student numbers • Alias (DownsFM: “DJ Bubbles”) • Affiliation • No references to school, sports teams, address, church group

  8. Recording like a pro • Quiet environment • Take a deep breath • Set papers down on keyboard/table • “Recording in progress” signs on doors • Avoid • Jangly jewelry • Loud fans/heaters

  13. Fine Tuning • Adjust Volume “Track mover” tool – move audio where you want it • Trim it • Adjust volume of each track

  14. Ready to make it an mp3? • mp3 = sPB&J • First time, Audacity asks where LAME is • Metadata, metadata, metadata! • Save to Desktop • Now it’s in a universal format
