  6. Technology • We use technology for reading and Writing often. • We have two main programs: • Accelerated reader – comprehension based • Read Naturally – fluency based • We use technology to write and have the computer read out loud what we wrote – a screen reader

  7. Computer Reading

  8. Screen readers are software programs that allow a person to read the text that is displayed on the computer screen with a speech synthesizer. A command can instruct the synthesizer to read or spell a word, read a line or full screen of text, find a string of text on the screen, announce the location of the computer’s cursor or focused item, and so on. Screen reading during Journal time

  9. Some of us travel to the Intermediate school
