  1. Do management consultants enjoy living in hotels and flying all the time? People always have a myth about the management consultants about their traveling that are involved in their profession as glamorous but the reality lies somewhere in the middle. The work of the consultants is mostly focused on large and developed cities. The consulting travel involves a lot of PowerPoint presentations, rushing to meet deadlines, and attending crucial meetings. Once the meeting gets over you need to catch the next flight to the next country and the whole cycle starts again and you will be spending most of your flight time working. The long hours of flight mean that you will be leaving your home when your family is asleep and return when their kids are gone to bed. Even when they come back home, their mind will be occupied with work. When we consider the positive aspect the management consultants will be able to experience various cultures but there comes along jet lag, stress-induced sleepiness due to continuous travel.

  2. There are also chances of getting personal relationships disturbed. The main challenge as a management consultant is that you will be given a stimulating variety of professional challenges. A consultant needs to be an extrovert, or else it will be very difficult to do the jobs at different places with different types of people and you should always be ready to get out of your comfort zone. Few perks make it quite fun such as traveling in business class flights, steak dinners and you get to explore new countries and continents all the whole week. You will be able to survive once you start living with a crowd of different personalities and also need to have a discipline in time management which is very crucial for your survival. Once you start enjoying your job and start loving it all the pain, stress will be at ease soon.
