  3. Tableau Vivant which is borrowed from the French language means ‘living picture’. Throughout the duration of the display people do not speak or move. My goals for this project were for students to expand their vocabulary and to view and learn something about authentic pieces of artwork and gain an appreciation of art. I also wanted them to create their own artwork. After a class discussion, they were given a handout with specific instructions on how to go about doing the project. They were assigned to do research on a famous artist and create a ‘famous artist reference card’ along with a picture of one of their masterpieces. The students then had to create a living version of this famous painting by assuming the pose and facial expression of the subject. Here are some samples of their work.

  8. Leonardo Da Vinci-Mona Lisa Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 and he died in 1519.He was an Italian artist and he is known for two paintings, ‘’Mona Lisa’’ and ‘’The Last Supper’’ . The Mona Lisa is believed to have been painted between 1503-1506. It is only 77cmx53cm and is in oil on a white Lombardy poplar panel.
