  1. Who Discipled Abraham? Galatians 3:6-9

  2. Thus Abraham "believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness." So you see that it is men of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." So then, those who are men of faith are blessed with Abraham who had faith.

  3. Introduction "Abraham 'believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.'" Genesis 15:6 "In you shall all the nations be blessed." Genesis 12:3

  4. 1. How to I BECOME a child of Abraham? a. You don’t need to be an ETHNIC Jew to be a son of Abraham “Therefore know that those of faith, these are the sons of Abraham.” Galatians 3:7 MKJV “So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.” Galatians 3:28-29 GNB

  5. b. You need to UNDERSTAND the Gospel in Genesis "Now the Lord said to Abram, 'Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who curses you I will curse, and in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed.'" Genesis 12:1-3 "In you shall all the nations be blessed." Galatians 3:8 "Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations." Genesis 17:4-5

  6. c. You need to DO what Abraham did “If you were Abraham's children, you would do what Abraham did.” John 8:39 "Abraham believed God and it was reckoned to him as righteousness" Genesis 15:6 "So you see, it is those of faith who are sons of Abraham." Galatians 3:7 "If you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise." Galatians 3:29

  7. 2. What are Abraham’s blessings and how do I ENJOY them? a. The Blessing of being MADERIGHT with God “Scripture saw ahead of time that God would give his approval to non-Jewish people who have faith. So Scripture announced the Good News to Abraham ahead of time when it said, "Through you all the people of the world will be blessed." Galatians 3:8 GW

  8. b. The Blessing of the SPIRIT "….. in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles, in order that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14 “Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others--ignoring God!-- harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life." Galatians 6:7-8 MSG

  9. RESPONSE "Know therefore that those of faith, these are the sons of Abraham." Galatians 3:7 "I am crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me, and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20
