NDSEG National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program • Department of Defense • Highly Competitive – 200 awards from a pool of 3,000 applicants • Awards are Portable – You can use them at any US institution • AWARD BENEFITS: • 3 Years of Graduate School Support • Full Tuition and Fees (excl. Room and Board) • $31,000 Annual Stipend • $1,000 Toward Health Insurance • No Employment Obligation

NDSEG National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program • ELIGIBILITY: • US Citizens and US Nationals only • Less than TWO full-time years of graduate study in your discipline • Must be pursuing a DOCTORAL degree • Must begin or be continuing graduate studies in Fall 2014 • Must be studying a supported discipline (next slide)

SMART Science, Mathematics, & Research for Transformation • Department of Defense – Carries a Work Obligation • Highly Competitive – 200 awards from a pool of 3,000 applicants • Awards are Portable – You can use them at any US institution • AWARD BENEFITS: • Graduate AND Undergraduate Support • Full Tuition and Fees (excl. Room and Board) • $25,000 - $38,000 Annual stipend depending on degree • $1,000 Toward Health Insurance • Post-Graduate Employment Placement in a DoD Research Facility

SMART Science, Mathematics, & Research for Transformation • ELIGIBILITY: • US Citizens only • 18 years of age or older by August 1, 2014 • Be an undergraduate enrolled in a US university • Be an undergrad or recent grad applying for graduate admissions • Be a grad student enrolled in a US university • Be able to participate in summer internships in DoD Labs • Be willing to accept post-graduate employment with the DoD • Must be studying a supported discipline (next slide)
