  4. Click on “Create an account”

  5. Create a “Google Account” to use Gmail Choose a username

  6. Create a “Google Account” to use Gmail Create a unique username and a password that is secure but easy to remember

  7. Create a password, and make sure to write down both your username and your password someplace safe for future use.

  8. New (unread) e-mails will turn “inbox” the color red and the number in parenthesis tells you how many new e-mails you have

  9. The tab at the top of the page will also let you know how many new e-mails you have (3)

  10. This list in the center of the page is probably the easiest way to tell you have new e-mail– the items that are bold are the ones that have not been opened yet

  13. Congratulations! You have an e-mail address, and you know how to use it!
