Importance and Uses • Over 300 rooms for entertainment, including dining halls, an amphitheater, a market, a bath complex, and acres of woods, gardens, zoos, fountains, and parks • The artificial lake in the center was later the site of the Colosseum, which could be re-flooded at will.
