First recorded history of using counting boards or symbolic methods such as tally sticks or notches on bones were used for calculations as far back as 2000 BC

Used before the invention of written numbers for counting quantities larger than 10 fingers and 10 toes.

The first recorded use of Abacus in China around 600 BC. The wooden Abacus as seen on the right is Chinese and was invented in 900 AD

The Chinese Abacus is still being used today throughout the Orient for …. Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction, Square Root and Cube Root operations
