  1. Welcome 4th grade students! Texas Indian tribes Exploring and researching different tribes in Texas

  2. Five important Indian Tribes of Texas • Caddo • Karankawa • Jumano • Tonkawa • Coahuiltecan

  3. You will be divided into teams of 5. Each team will be assigned a tribe. Each team will need to research the location, shelter, food, and clothing about your tribe. You will need to use library books, online resources, and our district databases to find your information. Each team will create a presentation for the class about your tribe. Texas Indian Tribes

  4. As you go through this slide show, be sure to do the following things: • Take notes about the tribes location, shelter, clothing, and food. • Your group presentation will be one page on each topic above in PowerPoint. • Remember not to copy word for word. Texas Indian Tribes

Click on the words “Read This First”. • Read the introduction about Texas Indians on this page. This will give you a good basic information about Texas Indians.

  6. Researching each tribe: On the next ten slides, 1-2 slides will be devoted to the tribes each group is assigned to research. You may scroll forward to the slides devoted to your tribe. Be sure to read all of the information about your tribe and take notes.
