  4. East Providence • 302 people were trained in “21 Proof” responsible beverage service in 17 classes provided by the EPPC. • Alcohol sales to underage persons decreased from 34.72% to 5%.  • Communities that Care Survey results indicate that binge drinking rates have decreased from 15% to 4%. 

  5. Middletown • Passage of RBS for Class A licenses • Passage of Social Host/Consumption Ordinance w/ education program/fees/fines • Passage of Chemical Health Policy

North Kingstown • Passage of Chemical Health Policy and implementation of Social Norms Campaign at the High School • Students who reported never drinking increased from 41 % to 55% • Surge of arrests of youth in possession of alcohol. Arrests declined in year 3 as media campaign raised awareness of the enforcement activity.

  8. North Providence • Passed ordinances for RBS and standardized licensing penalties • Passed athletic policy to require mandatory meeting for parents • Moderate use of alcohol decreased from 22% in 2005-06 to 17% in 2009 Source 2005-06 SALT Survey Reports & 2009 SPF SIG Youth Survey

  9. Pawtucket • Established partnership with law enforcement around RBS training • Obtaining a City Council resolution for zero days to obtain RBS certification in the City, pending passage of enabling State legislation • Reconnecting and institutionalizing a faith-based coalition in the City

  11. Smithfield • Passage of amendment to local RBS ordinance and standardized administrative penalties • Passage of school breathalyzer policy • Students’ moderate use of alcohol (6+ times min 30 days) decreased by over 54% in nine months

  12. Warwick • Passage of School Chemical Health Policy • Students who report never drinking alcohol increased by 8% • Passage of RBS ordinance

  13. Westerly • Passage of Social Host Ordinance • Passage of enforcement policy on party dispersal • Partnering with police to provide equipment to liquor establishments for checking identification

  14. West Warwick

  15. Woonsocket • Developed drug paraphernalia ordinance • Implemented drug stings and surveillance activities • Implemented prescription drug awareness media campaign
