HOW TO GET YOUR SHOTS PUBLISHED

  • Make it simple and to the point from very beginning. Include sub heading: NEW COLLECTION, provide the collection in lo-res from the get go and offer a yousendit or wetransfer link and include credits and a short release on creative direction.
  • Follow up – email or send disc of hi-res images with A4 print out of collection
  • Know your publication – target audience/magazine philosophy – pitch to a section of the magazine to show you’ve done your homework, immediate brownie points.
  • Be realistic – start with trade publications
  • Investigate international opportunities: ESTETICA in 24 countries, lower quality of work overseas (bar UK)
  • Make it aspirartional – make people aspire to take part of/be something else – achieved with a strong overall CONCEPT
