  3. Length • Information to include: • name • contact information • professional summary statement • employment objective statement • education • employment experience • skills/activities/affiliations • references (optional) Resume features

Professional Summary Statement, e.g. • An (immigration advisor) with (9) years of experience in (higher education) who has successfully (improved office procedures for visa processing) • Employment Objective Statement, e.g. • To find a (challenging) position in (an international trade organization) where my (analytical) skills can be utilized • To obtain a position in a (global enterprise) that will use my education and work experience in (international business, telecommunications, and market analysis) • Power Words Resume features

  5. Customize for each application • Most important information first • Highlight skills specific to job • Relevant experiences only • Use key words & terms from your profession • Answer question: "Why should I hire you?" Resume format
