2. Did God appoint Jeremiah as a prophet before he was even born?
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
3. How did the people of Judah behave toward God in the time of Jeremiah?
Jeremiah 3:6-7 (KJV) (vs 6-13)6 The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. 7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not.
4. Were the people of Judah putting their faith in the physical Temple in Jerusalem, while actually turning their backs on God?
Jeremiah 7:3-4 (KJV) 3 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these.
5. Did God use Shiloh as an example of what happens to people who trust in physical Temples and Tabernacles, instead of Him?
Jeremiah 7:12-13 (KJV) 12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. 13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;
6. Did the people of Judah also become extremely idolatrous?
Jeremiah 7:30-31 (KJV) 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. 31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart.
7. Were they also desecrating The Sabbath?
Jeremiah 17:21-23 (KJV) 21 Thus saith the Lord; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22 Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23 But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
8. Was the coming of Jesus Christ prophesied in Jeremiah?
Jeremiah 23:5-6 (KJV) 5 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, The Lord our righteousness.
9. How long did Jeremiah warn the people of Judah that they would be destroyed if they continued in their unfaithfulness?
Jeremiah 25:3 (KJV) From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
10. Did they listen to all of the warnings?
Jeremiah 25:4 (KJV) And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
11. Did God then use the Babylonians under King Nebuchadnezzar to conquer them?
Jeremiah 39:1-2 (KJV) 1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it. 2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
12. Did God see to it that King Nebuchadnezzar himself ordered that no harm come to His servant Jeremiah?
Jeremiah 39:11-12 (KJV) 11 Now Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying, 12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.
