Text Analysis: Transcendentalism • Workbook pg. 136 • Transcendentalism- an intellectual movement of the mid 1800s that emphasized the individual and living a simple life. • Led by Ralph Waldo Emerson • They wanted to transcend- or go beyond- the limitations of the senses and everyday experiences.
