  4. Current Garden: 8 Raised Beds (Birds and beds are not to scale)

  5. ProposedAdditional Beds . . . 20 EACH NEW BED WILL MEASURE 5 FT. WIDE BY 20 FT. LONG

  6. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT WE WILL REQUIRE A FEW ITEMS TO MAKE THIS GARDEN A REALITY . . . CLEARING THE LAND LUMBER FOR 20 NEW BEDS GARDEN SOIL TO FILL BEDS WATER LINE TO GARDEN AREA

  7. CLEARING THE LAND ( IN NEAR FUTURE) -- KILLING THE GRASS/WEEDS -- LEVELING/CLEARING THE LAND BACKHOE AND LABOR COURTESY OF OUR FRIENDS FROM COLEMAN, TEXAS, WHEN THEY VISIT EPIPHANY THIS MONTH.

  8. LUMBER FOR 20 NEW BEDS . . . PER BED: (2 ea. ) 20’ x 6” boards (2 ea.) 5’ x 6” boards I’M OFF TO EPIPHANY!

  9. Won’t you need some screws or nails or super glue to hold those pieces of wood together? WELL, DUH! 80 TO 120 SCREWS

  10. GARDEN SOIL TO FILL BEDS . . . 1.78 CUBIC YARDS PER BED SOIL FOR 20 BEDS = 35.6 CUBIC YARDS That’s a lot of dirt to spread!

  11. ADDITIONAL WATER METER . . .OPTION 1 EAGLE LANDSCAPING WILL INSTALL THE APPROPRIATE VALVES, A MAINLINE TO THE GARDEN AND SIX QUICK COUPLER ASSEMBLIES. THE CITY OF RICHARDSON WOULD INSTALL A SEPARATE METER TO SUPPLY WATER FOR THE GARDEN.

  12. TIE INTO CURRENT EPIPHANY LINE . . . OPTION 2 EAGLE LANDSCAPING CAN TIE INTO THE EXISTING MAINLINE ; INSTALL A 2” LINE TO THE GARDEN AND ADD 6 QUICK COUPLER ASSEMBLIES

  13. WATERCOSTS DURING GROWING SEASON EXAMPLE: EXPENSES INCURRED FOR IRRIGATION OF THE RICHARDSON CHURCH OF CHRIST NEIGHBORHOOD GARDEN THIS YEAR WITH A DEDICATED METER : JULY AND AUGUST 2010 AVERAGE WATER USE WAS 8,000 GALLONS WHICH EQUATES TO $23.60 PER MONTH DURING THE PLANTING/ GROWING SEASON

ONGOING COSTS DURING GROWING SEASON BASED ON EPIPHANY’S AVERAGED JULY & AUGUST 2010 RATES, THE PROPOSED GARDEN’S PROJECTED WATER RATES PER 1000 GALLONS OF WATER USED WOULD BE: ) OPTION 1 – NEW DEDICATED METER AND LINE $3.83 PER THOUSAND GALLONS (NO SEWER RATE CHARGE) ESTIMATED 8K GALLON USAGE PER MONTH = $ 30.64 PER MONTH OPTION 2 – WATER LINE TIED INTO CURRENT METER $7.67 PER THOUSAND GALLONS (INCLUDES SEWER CHARGE) ESTIMATED 8K GALLON USAGE PER MONTH = $61.36 PER MONTH
