  2. Open House Packet • Please complete the forms and return as soon as possible.

  3. Title I • Learning Compact

  4. DRESS & APPEARANCE • Students are discouraged from wearing flip flops, cowboy boots and crocs as students cannot participate in recess and gym safely. • Wheelies are not permitted at school

  5. COMMUNICATION • Teacher newsletters – twice a month • Principal newsletter – once a month • Parent Portal • Website: www.boonville.k12.mo.us • Links for Lunch/Breakfast menu • Upcoming events • Staff Directory • Student Handbook

  6. RED (Real Time Events Delivered) • Receive a text and/or email on upcoming events and early dismissals due to weather • Sign up for RED on Boonville website -Hannah Cole – General and your child’s grade level. • If phone numbers or email addresses change please notify the school and update your RED account.

  7. School Wide Intervention • 30 minutes daily • Begins Sept. 30 – April 25th

  8. GO MATH! • Piloted this program last year & has been adopted this year for K-5. • We have all the resources & materials to fully implement. • Resources for parents to access for enrichment and remediation. • More information to come.

  9. ROCKET MATH (1st & 2nd Grade) • Support from home on addition/subtraction • Students work at individual pace and set individual goals.

  10. ARRIVAL TIMES • School starts at 7:45 • Children cannot arrive before 7:25 as supervision is not available. • Upon arrival children can either go to the gym or eat breakfast. • Breakfast times are 7:25 – 7:55

  11. BEAT THE BELL • Arrive on time by 8:00, traveling trophy presented each week to class with the highest % of students on time. • “Best Attendance of the Month” – Classes with the highest attendance per grade level will be recognized September – April. -Will receive a coupon

  12. “STAR” Students • Studious, Timely, Accountable, & Responsible • Students meeting guidelines will receive a certificate quarterly and an extra recess. 0 Absences & up to 2 Tardies or 1 Absence & 0 Tardies Each quarter everyone starts with a clean slate

  13. PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARD • Students meeting the following requirements for the entire year will receive a certificate at the Awards Assembly in May: • 0 Absences and up to 4 Tardies or • 1 Absence and up to 2 Tardies or • 2 Absences and 0 Tardies

  14. Lunch • Parents are welcome to eat a school lunch with their child. • Please notify school by 8:30. • NO FAST FOOD OR SODA MAY BE BROUGHT IN. • You will sit at a table in the extended part of the cafeteria with your student. • A Lunch expectation agreement needs to be signed.

  15. Lunch Payment • Online payment for school meals available thru Parent Portal. • PayPal is the clearing agent for transactions • There is a fee charged with this and is in your packet of information.

  16. SICKNESS • When your child is sick, please call the office by 8:30. Leave a message if on another line. • Your child should be symptom/fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. • If your child gets sick during the day, we will call parents first, then emergency contacts. • Any prescription medications need to be brought to the nurse in the pharmacy package with pharmacy label.

  17. PARTIES • Students can participate in Halloween, Valentine’s Day and Christmas parties. • Sign up sheets to help are in the classrooms. • Only store-bought treats should be provided. • Floral deliveries, balloons, candy and/or individual gifts will not be accepted at the office to deliver to students.

  20. Safety and Dismissal Procedures • #1 Goal is to ensure safety for all kids!

  21. Safety • All classroom doors are locked • Specific procedures & practice drills • All outside doors are locked • Buzzer system-will happen-not sure when • New walkies

  22. VISITORS • Visitors must check in the office. • No parents in hallway unless cleared through office.

  23. Dismissal Procedures • Plan ahead for your child’s dismissal • Consistent dismissal procedures are important • If you need to change dismissal plans, a parent or legal guardian must send a note or call the office by 2:00.

  24. Pick-Up List • The person picking up your child must be on the pick-up list. • If you need someone to pick up your child that is not on the list, please send a note or call. • You may be asked for a photo ID.

  25. Pick-Up Forms • Complete the form tonight and return tomorrow. • Complete one for EACH child. • We also use this list if your child gets sick at school and we can’t reach parents.

  26. Parent Pick-Up Procedures • Two ways to utilize parent pick-up: • Car Pick-Up • Face to Face Pick-Up

  27. Car Pick-Up • Pick-up is at 2:45 AFTER all buses have left • Stay in your car • Pull your car all the way around the parking lot via the following: • West side for 2nd Graders and Preschool (behind buses) • East side for Kindergarten and 1st Graders

  30. Car Pick-Up • Lanes will continue to move forward and load students. • Remain in single file line. You may need to park if your student is not ready. • If your child has a sibling in 2nd grade, they will all be with the 2nd grade teacher.

  31. Face-to-Face Pickup • Face-to-Face Pickup will start at 2:45. • If you prefer to park and walk up to the building you may use the crosswalksand an attendant will be there to direct traffic. • Teachers will be in the same area each day. • The teacher will make sure you are on the list and you can take your student.

  32. Face-to-Face Pick-Up • People picking up students will not be allowed to stand inside the school or in the front entry of the building. • The only exception to this is during inclement weather. • A staff member will hold a sign for parents to come in the foyer after busses dismiss.

  33. Face-to-Face Pickup • Inclement weather pick-up • Kindergarten – in Kindergarten hallway (by library) • 1st Grade – in front hallway by office windows • 2nd Grade – in front hallway across from nurse’s office. • Please do not take your student without the teacher knowing.

  34. What Can You Do to Help? • Please share our dismissal procedures with anyone that picks up your child. • Be patient. We have tried to address possible issues but realize there will still be some that might come up. • If you have a concern, please contact me.

  35. We are responsible for getting a third of our student population safely home through our Parent Pick-Up system. • THANK YOU for your support and patience!
