Course Synopsis Basic Management, Managers, Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling; Management of the aviation industry; airport operations; aviation organizations and rules; safety, liability and security in aviation industries; main activities of the aircraft manufacturer, main activities of the airline industry.

13. Teaching Methodology 1. Basic management concepts will be demonstrated. 2. Students will be required to sit for tests. 3. Students will be required to produce a report based on real organisation in a group.

14. Weekly Schedule

15. Assessments • 2 Tests that will carry 20 marks each. • 1 Group Project that will carry 15 marks. • 1 Individual Project that will carry 5 marks. • A final exam that will carry 40 marks. Altogether will be 100 marks.

16. Group Projects • Students will be divided into severalgroups. • Each group will organise a daily trip to selected organisation. • Each group has to create a proper organizational chart and each member has to be assigned to a specific task. • The successful of each group is determined by its ability to conduct the given task succesfully.

18. A reminder about attendance ATTENDANCE The student should adhere to the rules of attendance as stated in the University Academic Regulation :- 1. Student must attend not less than 80% of lecture hours as required for the subject. 2. The student will be prohibited from attending any lecture and assessment activities upon failure to comply the above requirement. Zero mark will be given to the subject.

20. Who are managers? A manager is someone who coordinates and oversee the work of other people so that organizational goals can be accomplished.

21. Classification of Managers Traditionally, • Top • Middle-line • First-line The bottom part is known as nonmanagerial employee.

22. What is management? It involves coordinating and overseeing the work activities of others so that their activities are completed efficiently and effectively. Efficiently means achieving with minimal waste of resources. Effectively means achieving the highest goal attainment. In short – achieving the goal optimally.
