  1. SemNetMan Aim of the project: Enabling better network management between entities (information and persons) mainly by means of • an ontological description of the network and • the computation of the proximity between the entities • visualization of search results Implementation of a software that can be used as plugin/web service and can be reused with different already existing network management tools. Livia Predoiu

  2. SemNetMan • Duration: 18 months (May 2005 – November 2006) • Project Partners: • Punkt. netservices OEG, Wien • NIWA WEB solutions OEG, Wien • M2n – consulting and development GmbH, Linz • Semantic Web School (SWS) – Zentrum für Wissenstransfer GmbH i.G., Wien • Working days: • 125 days (alltogether) • 8 months elapsed, 10 months left => 70 working days left (~ 3 MM) • Funding: 19 174 € Livia Predoiu

  3. SemNetMan 7 main workpackages: • A2 method: computation of proximity between entities (information & persons) within a network • A3 platform: Implementation of the algorithms of A2 as a plugin and testing with the network platform of the SWS. • A4 Survey of Semantic Web SW: Aim: • adjust the implementation to standards/interfaces/formats/… already existing • identify useful software and integrate it into the software developed. • A5 Symposium: present results of project and network with potential partners in the industry • A6 Case Studies: Evaluation of the plugin with 2 case studies • A7 Generic evaluation: Generic evaluation of all 3 case studies • A8 Dissemination Livia Predoiu
