Today technology has ensured that modern day pens have undergone a revolution, and today there are numerous types of pens which are available commercially in the market. Malaysia is no exception to this trend, and today you are more than likely to find a mind boggling variety of pens available commercially in the market. Right from brush pens in Malaysia to even the high end calligraphy pens that are made for specialist uses. No matter you are a student, artist, or even an adult. It's important for you to know about the different varieties of pens that are available in the market, and today in this article we will discuss just that:  Fountain pens: Fountain pens are the earliest type of pens to be invented and is still widely popular around the world. Fountain pens are often the first kind of pens that are introduced to little children at schools.  Ballpoint pens: The ball point pen has been nothing less of a revolution when it comes to pens and the industry. Ball point pens addressed all the issues that were faced by use of pens like fountain pens. Ballpoint pens are expensive easy to use and are widely available at stores around the world. Ball point pens are also long lasting as compared to ink pens which have to be refilled periodically and also the added hassle of carrying ink around. The ink used in ball point pens also dries up faster than other types.  Gel pens: Gel pens are a favorite amongst students and professionals, who prefer their smooth flow and the lower pressure required to use them as compared to ball point pens. The ink used in this type of pen is usually mixed with water and a gel which gives it an extremely smooth flow. The Ink is less likely to smudge, than ink from a fountain pen and also gives out crisp and brighter colors, due to the gel being mixed in them.  Marker pens: Marker pens are of may types, including, water, alcohol, oil and pigment based. Marker pens are great for use with whiteboards or on decorative sheets of paper. Marker pens come in a variety of shapes and sizes of nibs and tips which makes them extremely versatile.
