  1. Similarity Essential Question: What is the correct proportion to apply when solving for a given side or angle.

  2. Similarity Similar Polygons - Polygons with the same angle measures and all sides are in proportion. Scale factor – ratio of the lengths of the corresponding sides of similar figures.

  3. Similarity Compare Waldo. Waldo’s 2nd picture is twice as big as his 1st. Scale factor 1:2.

  4. Similarity Diamonds are similar. Find the scale factor. Always reduce fractions. 15 50

  5. Similarity Perimeters with similarity – If two polygons are similar, then their perimeters are proportional to the scale factor. Scale factor 3:5 and the perimeter of the first shape is 30, then the perimeter of the 2nd shape is 50.
