integumentary
Integumentary
  • Protects superficial endocrine organs
  • Epidermis synthesizes cholecalciferol (See Key Terms)
  • Sex hormones stimulate sebacous gland, influence hair growth, fat distrurbution, sweat gland, and stimulates mammary glands
skeletal
Skeletal
  • Protects endocrine organs, mostly in brian, chest, and pelvic cavity
  • Skeletal growth is stimulated by serveral endocrine hormones
  • Sex hormones speed up growth during puberty
muscular system
Muscular System
  • Skeletal muscle protect and cover some endocrine organs
  • Hormones adjust muscle metabolism energy and production, and growth
nervous
Nervous
  • Hypothalamic hormones directly control pituitary and indirectly control secretions of other endocrine organs
  • Many hormones affect neural metabolism, and the reproductive systems influence and development
cardiovascular
Cardiovascular
  • Distributes hormones through blood stream
  • Regulates production of RBC, evaluate blood pressure, and heart rate
lymphatic
Lymphatic
  • Provides defense against infection and with other WBCs, assist in repair after injury
  • Stimulates lymphocytes and aids in the affect of the immune system
respiratory
Respiratory
  • Provides O2 and eliminates CO2 generated by the endocrine system
  • Stimulates respiratory activity and dilate reparatory passageways
digestive
Digestive
  • Provides nutrients and substrates to endocrine cells
  • Stimulates constriction of sphincters and depress activity along digestive tract
  • Coordinate secretory activities along tract
urinary
Urinary
  • Release renin and erythropoietin when local blood pressure declines and produces calcitriol
  • Adjusts rates of fluid and electrolyte reabsorption in kidneys
reproductive
Reproductive
  • Suppresses secretory activities in hypothalamus and pituitary gland
  • Regulates sexual development and function
  • Stimulates mammary gland smooth muscle contractions
