  2. The reason for the project Our organic garden produced a surplus of food this year

  3. The Process • Meet with our engineer • Identify the issue • Develop a brief • Develop our knowledge and ideas • Draw up some plans • Cost out the project • Raise some funds • Build the pataka

  4. The problem • We wanted to be able to store the excess produce from our organic gardens so the food technology students would be able to use fresh vegetables year round. Anyone for soup?

  5. Simon meets the KAT team • We started by listing the vegetables we wanted to store so we could do some research into their storage requirements

  6. Testing our knowledge We tested whether water or soil (sod) worked better to keep a constant air temperature underneath

  7. Presenting our plans Cameron and Nathan convincing us their ideas were the best.

  8. Raising funds • Cameron and food, hmmm…
