  1. Network for the Detection of Stratospheric Change (NDSC) 2001 Symposium Tropopause folding effect on variation of ozone concentration measured by lidar and sonde over Suwon station September 25. 2001 C.H.Lee and C.B.Park Institute for Laser Engineering Kyung Hee University, Korea

  2. History of measurements 1992, 10 : Stratospheric Ozone DIAL installation (308/353 nm) 1993, 05 : Combined Ozone DIAL installation with tropospheric Ozone DlAL (308/353, 292/319 nm) 1995, 10 : Mie Aerosol Lidar installation (532 nm) 1999, 06 : Stratospheric Ozone DIAL (308/351 nm) and Multi- Wavelengths Aerosol Lidar (355/387/408/532/1064 nm) installation

  3. Combined Ozone DIAL DIAL Scheme Wavelength : 308/353 nm 292/319 nm Energy : 50/25 mJ , 8/4 mJ Altitude : 4 - 30 km (Aerosol 10 - 30 km) Resolution : 250 m Counter : Photon Counting Data : Ozone Concentration (DIAL) Aerosol Backscattering Ratio (Transmission)

  4. Ecc Ozone Sonde SpecificationTypical Profile (Partial Press/ Temperature) Instrument : ECC Sonde MARK II ( VIZ Co., USA) 5A ECC ( Science Pump., USA) Data : Vertical Profile of Ozone Partial Pressure and Temperature (c) Frequency : 1 times in a week Location : Pohang (36.N/129.2E)

  13. Environmental Conditions for Second ozone maximum • Jet-Stream over 30 km ms-1 from South to East passed Korean peninsular. • Low-pressure at ground level before the second maximum. • Increase of temperature in lower stratosphere. • Isentropic potential vorticity anomaly should be consider.
