Typical Day 8:00 am – 9:00 am Testing the office network; checking to see who's logged on; making sure everything is running smoothly. 9:00 am – 10:00 am Assisting the other employees with problems at single computers: some computers are freezing up; files have gone missing. 10:00 am – 11:00 am Helping more co-workers use some of our new software. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Programming a new networking system. 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm Helping more users: someone can't connect to the Internet; another person's email has stopped working; a third person's computer won't save a file. 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm Helping more users: more problems with the Internet; a virus keeps saving files improperly; another person needs a newer version of a program.
