  6. There are three reasons that we are going to look at They will be in order from least to greatest meaning that the first answer I give you will be the reason that the least amount of people went for

  8. Religious Persecution • Protestant Reformation-created hundreds of religious groups • Also caused great conflict in Europe • People left Europe and came to America to start practicing the religion that they wanted

  9. Martin Luther and His 95 Theses • Got tired of the Catholic Church • Printing press was created during this time • Luther created something called the 95 Theses and nailed it to the Catholic Church door • This angered the Church and the Protestant Reformation began

  13. Indentured Servants • 50% of the people that came over to the New World were indentured servants • They couldn’t afford to come to America • Signed a contract instead to work as a servant in America

  14. Slavery • African villages caught their own people and sold them to the Europeans • The Europeans then carried them to the Americas to work on plantations and farms
