However, if we talk about the improvements seen in the Indian brick industry, the industry has seen a considerable growth in the past few years and few main factors contributing to this change are the increased number of infrastructure projects across the country and the increased construction activities taking place to cover it up. Apart from this, an increase in the population and the GDP has led to an increased number of projects which has played the role of a catalyst in the growth of the industry.
One of the newest additions or improvement in the industry is the use of AAC blocks. AAC, abbreviation for autoclaved aerated concrete is a lightweight building material which is precast under heat and pressure in an autoclave. Such AAC blocks are good enough in comparison to the conventional building blocks as it is more environment friendly and economical as well.
Such blocks are trending nowadays for their innumerable advantages over the traditional blocks and are eventually leading to a reduction in the total cost of cement and steel. The Indian market witnessed the introduction of AAC blocks long back in the 1970s however in the subsequent decades, only 5 companies manufactured AAC blocks in India. The AAC block market has seen a boom in the past few years and grabbed a lot of attention of the community due to its numerous benefits or advantages and the market being more vigilant about the environment. Despite seeing an increase in the market cap, the AAC blocks industry is still in its nascent stage. There are a few players in the market dominating the overall CAGR, such as Ultratech and JK Lakshmi cement. The trend has been set up and AAC blocks will soon cover the majority of the market.
