  2. Created in November 2007 Specific unit of the public mental health hospital « Le Vinatier » (Lyon) Resulted from a research on asylum seekers and refugees mental health. Outcomes: Difficulties of professionnals Isolation in their practices Necessity to set up DIY solutions No institutional legitimacy accorded to these informal practices No time and space to discuss 1.   3. 2) Organisation of Samdarra Network Permanent publical fundings: defraying employees cost Diverse provisional fundings: prompt actions and projects Structuration by different bodies of work: The salaried team The technical committee The coordination committee Working groups Local groups

  4. The salaried team: • A full-time position of coordinator • 20% of psychiatrist, in charge of the network • 30% of psychologist • Trainees from different social sciences fields. Functions: • Coordinating and conducting the various project • Developing local partnerships • Fundings seeking Coordination committee Annual Technical committee Mensuel Salaried team Local groups Working groups

Local Groups: • Interdisciplinary groups • Open to all professionnals and voluntaries interested Functions: • Gathering local actualities, difficulties… • Strenghtens ties between care sectors and social work sector. • Discussing, thinking collectively about solutions to build, « good practices» to develop.   9. 3) Objectives To promote access to healthcare for asylum seekers and people affiliated, while supporting the mental health of this public. To support the development of interdisciplinary collaboration around the migrants mental health care

Objectif 1: Promoting access to healthcare for asylum seekers and people affiliated, while supporting the mental health of this public Axe 1) Training and consciousness raising of professionnals : Seminars Training  Axe 2)  To maintain a process of knowledges elaboration: National diagnosis on the accompaniment and care of asylum seekers and refugees mental health within the national system dedicated to this population. Quantification of the care provided to migrants in publical psychiatrical systems. Survey on refugees representations

Objectif 2 : To support the development of interdisciplinary collaboration around the migrants mental health care Axe 1 : Communication and cooperative management of resources and information Creation of a regional directory on migrant support Creation of an interactive website Project realization in partnership: cooperative management of local resources Axe2 : Creation of common places and times to exchange and think, dedicated to professionals interacting with asylum seekers and refugees. Thematic workshops Local groups

  12. Conclusion Difficulties to built a regional and interdisciplinary network. Creating pathways between the different fields involved Objective: todevelop a regional care system fitted to the asylum-seekers population and rooted within public psychiatry
