  2. Introduction An elevator is the most essential part of a commercial building. It helps people to reach the desired floor in a building within few seconds, thus uplifting the comfort zones for passengers. However, elevators in a commercial or office building need to be safe and functional. There are diverse types of elevators commonly used for commercial purposes. You must choose the right type, depending on the capacity, number of floors, size, etc. The upcoming slides will talk about the differenttypes of elevators in India.

  3. Hydraulic Elevators Hydraulic elevators are powered by a piston at the end of the elevator that moves the elevator up. These kinds of elevators are used for buildings with 2 to 8 storeys. These lifts travel at a maximum pace of 200 feet per minute. These elevators types include three variations including conventional hydraulic elevators, hole-less hydraulic elevators, and roped hydraulic elevators.

  4. Machine-Room-Less (MRL) Elevators TheMRL elevators are the type of either hydraulic or traction lifts that do not have a machine room for the elevator. These elevators can travel at speed up to 500 feet per minute.

  5. Geared and Gearless Traction Elevators with Machine Room Traction elevators are elevated by ropes and are used for mid and high-rise buildings. They move with much higher speeds as compared to hydraulic elevators. Geared traction elevators contain a gearbox which is connected to the motor and drives the wheel that moves the ropes. Gearless traction elevator contains the wheel joined directly to the motor.
