    26. WHAT DO YOU SEE? Before stopping, look! Is it safe Before you exit your vehicle, Look! If a dangerous situation arises, Leave! Park in an area where you are visible and able to leave in a hurry. Maintain awareness of vehicles individuals and activity in your vicinity. Be aware of signs of drug houses or gang activity.

    27. DO’S ………… Notify the customer that you are there. Minimize time spent at the job site. Have a two-way radio or cell phone. Keep dispatch informed of your location and status. Wear full uniform that identifies who you work for. Ensure that your vehicle is adequately marked as such. Arrange to do your work in the morning hours. Continue to maintain awareness of vehicles, individuals, and activities in your vicinity. Mentally prepare for escape…from a home, yard, or neighborhood.

Some Dont’s Don’t respond to taunting and verbal abuse Don’t interact with individuals who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs Don’t carry significant amounts of money Don’t resist a robbery attempt. If confronted with a dangerous situation, don’t resist, follow all of the instructions given or flee if it is safe to do so.

    30. SAFETY FIRST! IF AT ANY TIME YOU FEEL YOU ARE IN DANGER… GET AWAY! ALERT YOUR COWORKERS AND CALL THE ---- POLICE ------- IF NECESSARY

    32. IF YOU CAN’T GET AWAY COMPLY IF SUBJECT IS ARMED STALL FOR TIME TALK TO THE ATTACKER PLAY ON THEIR EMOTIONS/HUMANITY IF YOU MUST DEFEND YOURSELF, FIGHT TO ESCAPE!

    33. YOU’VE ESCAPED…WHAT THEN SHOUT FOR HELP GET TO A SAFE PUBLIC PLACE DRAW ATTENTION TO YOURSELF CALL THE POLICE (911 EMERGENCY) BE A GOOD WITNESS

    34. REMEMBER! THESE SITUATIONS ARE HIGHLY UNPREDICTABLE. EACH WILL BE DIFFERENT...DEPENDING ON THE EMPLOYEE‘S EMOTIONAL STATE. THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO END THE CONFLICT SAFELY.
