  1. Virat Kohli Believes Two Indian Squads In Two Places Will Become Norm Soon India captain Virat Kohli and the head coach Ravi Shastri said that the possibility of two different Indian teams playing together in different places could become a norm soon as well. There comments came as when the first string of the Indian team is set to tour England for six Tests, another set of Indian cricketers are all set to travel to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series as well. And, Shastri said that this could help expand the game in near future as well. On the other hand, Virat Kohli said that this will become the norm soon. But you never know, in the future if you want to expand the game, especially in the shorter formats of the game then it could be the way forward,” Shastri said in the press conference.

  3. On the other hand, Virat Kohli explained that this will help players being mentally fresh and also help to manage workload as well. “Two squads in different places… with the current structure, and the kind of structure that we’re competing inside, to be very honest, it’s tough for the players to stay motivated for a long period of time and find the right kind of mental space confined in one area, doing stuff day in day out and dealing with high pressure situations. So this will definitely become a norm for the future,” he added. He again shared that if this happens then this will give space to players where they can take some time off and disconnect from the game and go out for a walk or having a meal or coffee so that they feel refresh as well. Currently, Team India are travelling to England for the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and then a five-match Test series against England as well.
