They will come back to the board next month with a concrete plan,” a source close to the ICC Board told PTI on Tuesday. On the other hand, there is a possibility that if the BCCI is unable to host the mega event in India given the current situation, the tournament might shift to the UAE after it finishes hosting the rest of the games of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, which is likely to end on October 10. Along with this, the ICC has also announced that BCCI will retain the hosting rights no matter where the event is played. "The ICC board has requested management focus its planning efforts for the ICC men's T20 World Cup 2021 on the event being staged in the UAE with the possibility of including another venue in the Middle East," the statement said.

The Board also confirmed that the BCCI will remain the hosts of the event regardless of where the event is played," it further added.
