  1. ‘Don't Put Pressure on Prithvi Shaw’, Says Sanjay Manjrekar Former India player Sanjay Manjrekar has urged everyone not to put pressure on the youngster Prithvi Shaw after he has played a match-winning knock against Sri Lanka recently. Manjrekar praised Shaw for his outstanding innings and said that India couldn’t have lost the game even if they would try to. Image Source by Twitter “I hope we don’t, typically like we do in India, put pressure on a young player, saying he has got to get a hundred," Manjrekar told Sony Sports. “That 40 (43) he got today put India in a winning position after that; India wasn’t going to lose even if they tried.” He continued: “I am happy with him getting 40s and 50s at the strike rate, provided there is enough batting after that. And it seemed like he wasn’t looking to play that way, but it was just happening. Ishan Kishan played a little differently, bordering on being frenetic."

  2. He again said that Prithvi Shaw’s innings was a treat to watch as well. He also added that putting pressure on him might saw his poor form. Otherwise he will start getting runs. And, it was his innings that helped India chased down the target of 263 with 13.2 overs to spare as well. The youngster smashed 43 off 24 balls and made sure that the team are off to flyer also. Prithvi Shaw, who had a poor outing in Tests in Australia, has returned in form in the limited-overs cricket after having scored heavily in the domestic cricket earlier this year. 3. He later maintained his form in the now-suspended Indian Premier League as well. And, since then he has been scoring his thirties and forties which in an aggressive way as well. And if he maintains his swashbuckling form, there is a great possibility that he seals his place in the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup as well which will take place later this year in the UAE after the IPL 2021 ends.
