The Model School IPM Project: Year I • Training • Developed two workshops • 8-hour landscape IPM • 3-hour structural IPM • Trained maintenance directors, groundskeepers, & custodians • Developed & distributed educational material for teachers, parents, & administrators • Conducted training sessions for parents & teachers

The Model School IPM Project: Year IIMarin County • Involve all maintenance & operations directors and their staff • Develop a model school IPM monitoring program at San Marin High School • Send out monitoring reports • Hold quarterly IPM seminars • Publish an electronic newsletter • Continue training in landscape & structural IPM

  10. The Model School IPM Project: Year IIAlameda, Contra Costa, & Solano counties • Hold landscape & structural IPM workshops for maintenance directors and their staff • Conduct outreach on the Healthy Schools Act

  11. The Model School IPM Project: Year IIMadera County • Repeat the Marin model from Year I for Madera Unified School District • Assess pests & pest management practices • Implement an IPM program for a single pest in one school • Train staff & administrators • Conduct outreach throughout county

The Model School IPM Project establishes standard for DPR’s train-the-trainer program • DPR is using curricula developed during Year I • Lecture/demo format coupled with hands-on field exercises • Taught by professionals with experience in school settings • Small class size makes interaction among participants possible
