Guidelines for Preparing an Effective Reading Manuscript
This guide provides essential tips for preparing a reading manuscript to enhance readability during presentations. Ensure you write only on one side of the page and maintain adequate space between lines. Use large letters for clarity, and avoid fastening pages. Keep one-inch margins and number all pages for easy navigation. Utilize different colors for cues, favoring symbols or single-word notes to prevent overcrowding your script. Organize cues during rehearsal, and ensure sentences are completed on the same page. Remember, neatness and adherence to these guidelines will impact your grading positively.

Presentation Transcript
1. Preparing a Reading Manuscript
2.
Write on only one side of a page
3. There should be space between lines. If hand-written, skip lines and use pre-cut paper
4. Letters should be large enough for you to read with the script placed on the podium/music stand
5. Never fasten the pages (staples, paper clips, etc.)
6.
Leave one inch margins on all sides
7.
Number each page on the top and bottom
8. Cues should be in a color that is different than the text
9. Cues should predominantly be in symbols or one word notes. Too many words in a cue and you wont be reading the script
10.
Cues should not be placed randomly. They should be inserted when rehearsing out loud
11.
If a sentence starts on one page, it should finish on the same page
12.
Neatness counts
13. The script will be graded individually.
Easy points if done correctly
