  2. George Rodrigue George Rodrigue, born is 1944, is a Cajun artist who grew up in Louisiana. Worlwide he is known for his creation of the Blue Dog, for his deceased dog named Tiffany. The store Tiffany & Co. is known for the blue boxes. The blue-hued, ghostly spaniel/terrier is often featured with a white nose and yellow eyes. Intro

  7. George Rodrique answered this question himself in a delightful book called Why is Blue Dog Blue? "Rodrigue answers the title question by explaining that Blue Dog's color depends on what the artist is doing: when Rodrigue goes fishing, he paints the dog a salmon color; when Rodrigue wants a hot dog, he paints the dog mustard yellow, and so on. . . . young Blue Dog fans will enjoy seeing their favorite pup dressed in different colors, and Rodrigue's liberating reminder that "Artists don't have to paint things the way they really are . . . "
