Decided and Set in Concrete • There will be a TRILL options feature with options appearing between the fixed length part of the TRILL Header and the encapsulated frame. • The Op-Length field in the TRILL Header is 5 bits and is in units of 4 bytes so the maximum options area is 124 bytes. Decided and Set in Concrete • There will be a way to distinguish whether an option is • Critical or non-critical • Hop-by-hop or ingress-to-egress • If the Op-Length field is non-zero, the top two bits of the first byte of the options area indicate the presence of a critical hop-by-hop and the presence of a critical ingress-to-egress option.
