  3. adherent (n) A follower, supporter (adj.) attached, sticking to The disciples of Jesus were his adherents. to adhere – use adhesive (tape, glue)

  4. altercation (n) an angry argument altercation – angry argument

  5. cherubic (adj.) resembling an angel portrayed as a little child with a beautiful, round, or chubby face; sweet and innocent cherub – chubby angels or cherry = sweet

  6. condone (v) to pardon or overlook condone French: pardonez-moi

  7. dissent (v) to disagree (n) a disagreement dissent – disagree - disagreement

  8. eminent (adj.) famous, outstanding, distinguished, projecting eminent Eminem = famous music artist His Eminence = someone that is distinguish, outstanding

  9. exorcise (v) to drive out by magic; to dispose of something troublesome, menacing, or oppressive exorcise “The Exorcist” – drives out evil exorcise – exercise drives outstress, toxins, etc (things that are troublesome to your health)

  10. fabricate (v) to make, manufacture; to make up, invent fabric that is manmade (manufactured) polyester vs. cotton or to fabricate a story – makeup to tell a lie

  11. gluttony • (n) engaging in extreme eating or drinking; greedy overindulgence gluttony – greedy extreme eating ---- overindulgence “overeating”
